The “Deck / Driver” acts as main deckhand on board and drives the smaller rescue boat (SIB) which we launch for rescue operations.
The “Deck / Driver” acts as main deckhand on board and drives the smaller rescue boat (SIB) which we launch for rescue operations. They should be experienced in mooring operations and line handling. They also support the Skipper in training other crew members on basic line handling and deck work, as well as using SAR equipment. They are the main support for the Guest Focus position.
Requirements:
- RYA Powerboat level 2 (equivalent or above) and SIB/RHIB driving skills
- experience of sailing, helm or deck work on small vessels
- experience in SAR (ideally but not necessarily as part of RHIB team) AND/OR experience with crowd management / conflict resolution/ mediation
Particularly desired:
- Experience in maintenance of outboard engines
- good spoken level of French and/or Arabic
- experience with team work, activism with people on the move, food/NFI distributions
