The Guest Focus is the crew member responsible for establishing and maintaining first communication with travellers in distress at sea.

The Guest Focus is the crew member responsible for establishing and maintaining first communication with travellers in distress at sea. They need to have strong crowd management skills and participate in the decision-making together with HOM and Skipper regarding the first assessment on the distress case.

They are responsible for Guestcare, whether people are taken on board Aurora or not, this includes deciding and organizing food and non-food item distribution, as well as sharing basic yet vital information on the basis of our protection principles.

Requirements:

  • Experience being responsible for communication, organization and decision-making in similar contexts
  • experience with crowd management/ conflict resolution/ mediation
  • experience in SAR and/or good knowledge of the context of migration in the Central Mediterranean Sea, the Italian political situation and European migration policies
  • good spoken level of French and/or Arabic

Particularly desired:

  • Experience with organizing food/NFI distributions
  • experience in training and/or coordinating others on crowd management / non-violent communication / asylum matters
